EAP Service Lead
Nelly Kalizinje
Nelly is a registered counselling psychologist (member NZ Psychology Society and American Psychological Association) with experience in the areas of addictions, and the provision of primary and community mental health services and employee assistance programmes.
In addition to working as a counsellor, Nelly plays vital leadership roles in recruitment, service improvement, and working with the clinical services team to ensure support for staff and integration of care.
In her practice, Nelly helps clients navigate work-related stress, difficult life transitions, relationships, and general psychological distress. Committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Nelly strives to support clients and colleagues to explore, understand, plan and action goals with meaningful results for their lives and careers.

EAP Service Lead
Hayley Walker-Williams
Hayley is a registered clinical psychologist (full member NZ College of Clinical Psychologists) with 25 years plus experience in areas including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues and psychological disorders. At Habit Health, Hayley provides service leadership for EAP Services and is committed to driving the national success of the service while maintaining best practices and clinical governance.
Hayley immigrated from South Africa in 2021 where she worked in academia, private practice, psychiatric in-patient, and EAP services. Hayley holds a PhD and a psychology professorship at North-West University, where she continues to be affiliated, working in psycho-social health at the Compres Community Psychosocial Research (COMPRES) Focus Area within the Faculty of Health Science. Hayley has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and presented research findings at national and international psychology conferences.

Nicky Holden
Nicky is a registered counsellor (member Drug and Alcohol Practitioners’ Association NZ and Australian Counselling Association) with particular focus on workplace and relationship issues, treating anxiety, stress, depression, and grief, substance abuse and trauma/crisis responses.
Nicky’s counselling approach is to support clients to develop problem solving skills, empowering decision-making and effect changes to gain more from life, relationships, and work.

Auckland Central/South
Julia Sharkey
Julia is registered counsellor (member NZ Association of Counsellors) with 10 years of counselling experience. Her areas of expertise include addiction, trauma, self-esteem, motivation, couples counselling and behaviour change.
Julia has worked across the health sector, including in rehabilitation centres and outpatient treatment programmes for substance dependency. She also has experience in emergency response to crisis and trauma.
Her interests include working with individuals, couples, and groups to improve overall mental health.

Waikato
Mike Murphy-Scanlon
Mike is a registered counsellor (member NZ Association of Counsellors) with 25 years plus experience in areas of anxiety, stress, and addictions, sleep and self-care, and family, parenting, and relationship issues.
He has worked in offender programmes and domestic violence support services for family courts.
Mike spent 14 years as a counsellor at the University of Waikato and continues to deliver workshops for tertiary counselling programmes. He is an accredited supervisor, supporting the next generation of counsellors and clinicians.

Hawkes Bay
Rowena Orpet
Rowena is a registered social worker and counsellor (Social Workers Registration Board NZ and member NZ Association of Counsellors) with over 27 years’ experience working in the UK and Aotearoa New Zealand. She has worked across a range of sectors including public health and social services, private counselling practices and non-profit community providers.
Rowena has worked in a range of mental health and behavioural issues, including conduct disorders and sexual harm, child, adult, couple and family therapy.
Rowena held executive leadership and management positions, before returning to her counselling practice.

Jude West
Jude is a Counsellor (full member NZ Association of Counsellors) and an EAP Services Clinical Lead with experience working in NGOs, clinical, community, custodial, secondary school, and tertiary education settings. In addition, Jude has experience in health promotion and has helped establish, train, and supervise peer-led wellbeing programmes for tertiary education and mental health social inclusion programmes for the NZ government.
Jude has served as clinical practice leader providing administrative supervision to clinical staff, supervising interns and evaluating clinical practice. She is a Solution-Focused Brief Therapist who works with individuals, couples, families, and groups from ages 13 to elderly, with a special interest in treating behavioural addictions. Jude holds a Master of Education (Counselling) with distinction, a Certificate of Supervision and is Te Whatu Ora Accredited.

Lynda Butterfield
Lynda is a registered counsellor and addiction practitioner (member Drug and Alcohol Practitioners' Association Aotearoa–New Zealand). Lynda has been a counsellor and addictions practitioner for nearly two decades, working in addictions, corrections, and mental health services in Christchurch, and holding a variety of roles, including leadership positions.
Lynda takes a person-centred and strengths-based approaches to working at supporting clients to identify strengths and trust themselves to make changes. She is trained in and practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART), Non-Violent Communication, and Trauma-Informed therapy.

Jo Scott-Weir
Jo is registered nurse and counsellor (member NZ Association of Counsellors), with more than three decades experience in the health and disability sector.
During a 20-year nursing career, Jo worked in post-operative surgery, head injury rehabilitation and hospice care. Once trained as a counsellor in 2010, Jo worked in oncology, supporting individuals and their whanau to navigate the journey of a cancer diagnosis and then in the disabilities sector helping individuals and their families post-vision loss.
Jo's takes a person-centred, humanistic, and holistic approach to counselling and treatments. She continues to gain skills and expertise through ongoing professional and personal development.
